How to get M Points

Every value below comes from the reward rules currently used by the stable and lazer score pipelines.

The exact calculation

LIVE SERVER RULE

Leaderboard position does not change the reward. The server uses the submitted play's calculated star rating and the beatmap's stored total length.

base floor(min(30, (10 ÷ 3^4/11) × e^{((ln 3 ÷ 220) × (stars ÷ 4) × seconds)}))

A, S and SH: receive the base value.
SS (X or XH): receives floor(base × 1.2).
Repeat plays: receive floor(reward × 0.5^N), where N is your number of earlier accepted, non-deleted scores on the same beatmap checksum.

Every accepted score halves the next reward

This example starts at 30 M. Only earlier accepted scores on the same beatmap checksum are counted.

ELIGIBILITY

When a score can reward points

Required

The score passed and was accepted; quarantined review scores do not pay out.
Your account is unrestricted.
The beatmap is at least 80 seconds long.
The result is A, S, SH, X or XH.
HP is at least 4 and OD is at least 1.
Vanilla plays use the beatmap's native ruleset.
The stored beatmap ID is zero or positive.

Always 0 M

B, C, D or F results.
Beatmaps shorter than 1:20.
Negative-ID beatmaps.
No Fail-only, Easy-only or Half Time-only submissions.
A repeat whose halved reward has rounded down to zero.

Mod note: difficulty-changing mods can change the star rating used by the formula. The three zero-point mod checks above reflect the server's current exact-mod comparison.

M Point FAQ

Does a #1 score earn more?

No. Placement notifications and M Point rewards are separate. Difficulty, length, grade and repeat count determine the reward.

Do M Points expire?

No automatic expiry is applied. Your balance remains in the M Point wallet until it is spent or adjusted.

Why did an eligible-looking play give 0?

Check the grade, length, HP, OD, beatmap ID, mods and previous accepted scores on that exact map. A restricted or quarantined score also cannot pay out.

Where can I use them?

Spend M Points on community badges and profile frames, then equip your cosmetics from Collection.
